Marathon Talk Run Camp 2016.  Feb 26/27th/28th. Sandy Balls.

***BOOK YOUR PLACE***

It’s time for Run Camp 2016 – the Marathon Talk annual pilgrimage to Sandy Balls. [This is a holiday centre in the New Forest incase you were wondering].

This will be the 3rd Marathon Talk Run Camp and each year we have a whole heap of fun, as much running as you can handle, good company and a great environment for a social, informal running weekend away.

When? February 26th/27th/28th 2016.

Where? Sandy Balls Holiday Centre, the New Forest, Hampshire.

How much? £175.00 pp.

The weekend kicks off with arrival on the Friday night (or Saturday morning if you’d prefer) and will be packed full of activity until Sunday afternoon.  You can stay for 1, 2 or 3 nights (but the cost is the same).

Accommodation is in Sandy Balls ‘Laid Back Lodges’ and each lodge sleeps 4 – 6 people. (* see below).

What will we do?

On Saturday morning it’s customary for us to be parkrun tourists and pop along to the beautiful Brockenhurst parkrun in Wilverley enclosure. (you don’t have to come to this, infact, you don’t have to do any of the things on offer, you can just come along for the fun!) but we do stop for coffee in the Forest on the way back if that influences your decision!).

There will also be a group coaching workshop on Saturday followed by a training session outside in the forest.  All of our runs will be suitable for everyone, cater for all abilities and be about effective training but looking after each other and having fun. We don’t mind if you’re at the front, back or in the middle!

You’ll get a buffet style meal after training in the evening followed by an evening of Marathon Talk style entertainment and a special star running guest presentation / Q&A.

On Sunday we have the very first Marathon Talk Half Marathon Championships at the wonderful Heartbreak Half organised by our friends at Race New Forest. If you come along to the camp you’ll also get a 33% reduction in the price of your race entry for the half marathon on Sunday!  Seems like a great opportunity to do a race together.  If you don’t fancy a race over 13.1miles (or don’t fancy doing the race as a training run) we’ll also organise various guided distance runs in the forest on Sunday morning.

Included in the camp price is also your Sunday lunch.

The camp closes after this but you’re free to stay at Sandy Balls until departure on Monday morning.

We’d love to see you at Run Camp.  It does sell out pretty quickly so if you want to come and have a great weekend of running away with like-minded, friendly people then book soon!

BOOK YOUR PLACE

Notes.

Sandy Balls is a fantastic venue for running.  On site there is a swimming pool (so bring your smugglers) and leisure centre as well as a small supermarket, cycle hire, a restaurant and pub!

*These are ‘cabins in the woods‘.  They are basic but brilliant for runners.  It’s relaxed and informal and accommodation is on a shared basis.  Rooms are either double or twin rooms.  Don’t panic – you won’t be sharing with anyone in a double room (!) unless you request it at the time of booking and twin rooms are always shared with the same gender. Please advise on booking if you are coming as a group and we’ll do our best (but it might not always be possible!) to put you in the same lodge or lodges close together. If you’re coming on your own, that’s just fine too.  We’re all normal people (almost).

* Families – if you’d like to bring your family and reserve an entire lodge then please contact me direct on info@marathontalk.com and I’ll see if I can help.  You get to run, the family get to enjoy a weekend away! What’s not to like.

* T&C’s.  Payment in full in advance. Payments cannot be refunded after January 31st 2016 (but places can be transferred).
